If you wish to invite me to give a workshop, I would be delighted to do so. Please call me or send an e-mail so we can discuss things further.
Possible topics for workshops include:
Once you know what is involved in creating vocal sound, it quickly becomes clear which muscles need to be trained. Getting to know the instrument creates huge insight and helps to prevent you from panicking too quickly when something doesn’t quite work; instead, it helps you think up solutions.
Would you like more depth in your voice? Do the high notes sound shrill and weak? Do you find your voice too ‘wooly’? Would you like more range? Does your voice often sound too nasally? After this workshop, hopefully you will know what you can do about it!
A singer must always sing with emotion. The interpretation of a piece always has the priority.
In this workshop, I explain what emotions and interpretation do with your sound. The use of certain emotions can even provide a way to manipulate your sound in a positive way.
All participants bring a repertoire of pieces with them that they are currently focused on, and we work on the (technical) aspects that come up during the workshop. Everyone has the opportunity to ask questions about technical elements that they are struggling with.
Would you like to participate in a workshop that is already planned?
Then take a look at my agenda to see when the next workshop is planned in, and sign up by calling or e-mailing me.
Does your voice feel fatigued after a day at work?
Do you have the feeling that people don’t truly listen to you?
Do you feel that you don’t come across confidently enough during job interviews?
Do you, as a teacher, find it difficult to assert your authority in the classroom?
Are you not happy with the color (timbre) of your voice?
Do you have the feeling that people don’t take you seriously when you’re speaking?
Do you feel the energy drain away when you have to tell a story?
Then it’s definitely time for you to consciously look at how you can use your voice (and your body) to get your message across!
What can we work on during the lessons/ workshops?
Vocal techniques: To improve the quality of your voice (including volume, color, clarity and sharpness, pitch, articulation…) and to prevent your voice from becoming fatigued.
Speaking techniques: To improve the form of your discourse (including how the sentences flow, sentence melody, when to breathe, accentuation, rhythm and tempo…)
Breathing techniques: To support the vocal and speaking techniques. Speaking takes place when you breathe out. If the breath doesn’t ‘flow’ well, the voice will also not flow optimally (includes training of respiratory muscles, exercises to learn to breathe naturally, breathing and relaxation techniques…)
Body posture: To support the spoken text and to become aware of muscle tension and action (Kinesiology).
Presentation and appearance: To bring together above aspects to create congruence. (Or in other words: are your thoughts and feelings, the significance of your words, the color of your voice and your posture clear and unambiguous?) … How do you come across? Do you actually know how you come across?
To become aware of how you can communicate a message most clearly.
Theatre techniques:
Send and receive techniques: To generate even more awareness of what you send out and to learn how to ‘receive’ the other person’s message well (ignoring, replying, incorporating etc.).

How we work together: The above elements call for different approaches, including: physical exercises, dialogue training, audio recordings and/ or video recording.
The lessons can be held at a location agreed on together, or at my home.
Fee for individual lessons:
One one-hour lesson: 70 euros excluding VAT and travel expenses.
Five one-hour lessons: 300 euros excluding VAT and travel expenses.
I will give you exercises to work on at home and maintain contact so I can give you feedback over the course of the lessons.
You can book various lieder recitals:
A combination of the above programs is also an option.
In the theatrical performance “The Untameable Woman”, the audience is taken on a journey through the spirits and emotions of women down the ages; in beautiful, dramatic and humorous arias, the behavior of the woman in love is sometimes portrayed in a slightly caricatured manner. In an intimate atmosphere, the audience becomes directly engaged in the various stories. Lieve sings arias by composers such as Puccini, Mozart, Donizetti, Bellini, Verdi, Gershwin and more … This performance is accompanied by pianist Hein Hoogendoorn. The performance is currently being provided via the ‘Theater in de kamer’ (‘Theatre in the Living Room’) foundation, but can also be booked in a personal capacity.
